SURPRISE!! I feel like we have been keeping this incredible secret for 17 weeks and I’ve been dying to shout it from the rooftops.

If you guys have been following along on the blog, then you have probably already read our story on our heartbreaking loss a few months ago (found here). We normally wouldn’t have shared such an intimate piece of our life so publicly, however when I started blogging I told myself that I was going always do my best to be as transparent as possible with my readers. When we shared the news of our last pregnancy with you guys, there was no way we could have foreseen such an unexpected turn of events. And after a few weeks of people asking us when we were going to spill the beans on the baby’s gender, we finally decided to bite the bullet and share our unfortunate news. We had such an overwhelming response from you all that it felt like we were going through that particular season with a hundred of our closest friends. We had so many people sending their prayers, thoughts, and sharing their own stories, that it was as if we had our own little community to turn to. And for that, we want to say THANK YOU!

After a healthy recovery, followed by our first solo trip since Emmett was born, and lots of tear-filled prayers, we found out at the end of September that we were pregnant!

We decided to hold off and sharing the news until this month for a few reasons. One being that it’s pretty thrilling to have our own personal secret. Except Noah has almost spilled the beans a couple of times by telling people he is going to be a big brother. Then JD and I just laugh and say, “Oh, he means he IS a big brother.” And second, we wanted to get our test results back confirming that baby was healthy.

After we took our blood test, I waited patiently for about five days, and then I started calling the doctor’s office regularly to see if they had our results back. I probably wouldn’t have been so trigger happy with the phone, but the week after we took our test was Thanksgiving, so I knew if we didn’t get our results at the beginning of the week, we would have to wait a whole other weekend to get the phone call. So I called, and I called, and I called – still nothing. And as we went to sit down for our little family Thanksgiving dinner on Wednesday night, I told myself that we would just have to wait. We sat the table, turned on some Christmas music, and as we got out our plates, the phone rang. Our test results were in! The nurse went down the list, and everything came back as low risk! THANK GOODNESS!! I felt like my heart was going to explode from the good news. Then she asked if we wanted to know the baby’s gender. Uh..DUH!!!

So, without any further ado…

The CUTEST Pregnancy Announcement

I’ve seen cute little bumpdates that other bloggers have done, and I love the idea, so I thought it would be a cute, fun way to keep everyone updated as the pregnancy progresses!

How far along: I will be 17 weeks on Friday.

Due date: June 2! Since this is our third baby and fifth pregnancy, I realize I might not make it to June, but I really hope I do. Noah was born in December, and Emmett in March, so my OCD side really likes the idea of their birthdays being three months apart.

Sickness: Thankfully my pregnancies are pretty easy, and I’ve never had to deal with morning sickness. I usually get a few headaches, but outside of being extremely exhausted, I typically coast through the first trimester.

Cravings: I am seriously hungry 24/7. The first part of my pregnancy I craved the usual pickle juice. I’ve craved this with all of my pregnancies, and I can’t count how many times JD has walked in on me chugging pickle juice out of the jar. Embarrassing, but necessary. I’ve since moved on to all things spicy, and anything packed with protein. Egg sandwiches, hot wings, everything with jalapeños, my appetite knows no bounds. I also go through lemons and granny smith apples like a boss.

Aversions: I can honestly say that there is nothing I don’t want to eat. Seriously.

Weight gain: I’ve gained 2 pounds.

Physical changes: My face has gotten super oily (awesome…not), and I have had a few ridiculous breakouts. As far as the bump goes, if you didn’t know me, you would probably think I enjoyed Taco Tuesday a little too much. I’m still able to wiggle into my regular jeans, but with my appetite, I don’t know how much longer that will last!

Gender: If you didn’t get it from the images, we are having a BOY!! Apparently we grow boys like weeds. Big, strong, good-looking weeds.

Again, we are super excited to get to share this news with you guys, and are really grateful to have already received such great support and sweet words from our close friends and family!  Thanks you for sharing in on this incredible new season of our lives, and we hope you all have a wonderful Christmas weekend! XO

    • Thank you, Kassy! Something that my husband told me after our first miscarriage has stuck with me. He told me that God would not put being a mother on my heart and not bring it to be in some shape or form. I truly believe that, and I also believe that God’s timing is absolutely perfect. You will definitely be on my heart!

  1. Omg!!! Congratulations to you and your family. This is such a cute way to announce. Love it. May God bless you on your pregnancy, love. 🤗💓 Thank you for being so open and transparent to your readers. That is one thing I need to work on.
