It’s MARCH!! I don’t know about you guys, but we are seriously in love with the weather around here lately (except for this week, because it’s currently pouring rain). The fact that our winter was so short and rarely cold makes me a little anxious for how hot summer will be, but for now we are soaking in all of the beautiful days we can get. Which means a lot of adventures and outdoor time.
February was actually a really incredible month. The boys and I went for a walk just about every chance we got (and if you know me at all, you know how much I love going on walks), and spent a ton of time running around outside in general.
Noah’s new favorite thing is “to go see the big rocks” behind our house. Aka the fancy circle in the middle of the street that is home to the road signs.
Please see below for reference.
Noah kind of reminds me of Harry Potter in this picture, so I think I’m going to have to hang it on our mantle.
I feel like we have been hitting up the splash pad frequently in Sundance Square, but the kids love it…and I love what they love. It also doesn’t hurt that there are more than a handful of fun restaurants in walking distance.
The last time we went, Noah happened to notice the horse-drawn carriages, which resulted in him talking about them for a week. So we decided to take an impromptu trip and surprised him with a carriage ride after dinner on one of the warmer Saturday evenings we have had.
He was actually terrified of the horse at first, but after we got going the boys couldn’t get enough of waving to people and saying, “Cheerio!”
Did I mention that we LOVE the zoo?? I have been going to the Fort Worth Zoo for seriously longer than I can remember – I absolutely adore our local zoo. I mean, who doesn’t enjoy going to check out animals that you can’t see on a regular basis (maybe even ever)?!
I will say, this is definitely one of those times where being a stay at home mom totally rocks. Two years ago when I was pregnant with Emmett, we decided to go with the family and take Noah for his first zoo trip. This also happened to be the same weekend as Boo at the Zoo. Needless to say, JD and I vowed to never return to the zoo on a weekend….EVER. So in the Fall I always manage to talk JD in to taking a day off from work so that we can go together as a family and avoid all of the crowds. This last week however, I had the pleasure of going with one of my dearest friends and her new baby boy.
We had an absolute blast; and while Emmett really had no clue what we were doing, Noah would not stop talking about the animals.
Here are some of our snapshots from the incredibly joyous animal adventure.
P.S. We take a picture with this elephant statue every time we go. I don’t know why, but it has become a ritual now, and we simply can’t pass it without getting a selfie.
P.S.S. I have been taking a picture with this statue since I was a little girl, so I happily make Noah get out of the stroller for a photo op before we leave. 🙂
All in all, I would have to say that we had a wonderful month! What fun things have you guys been filling your warmer days with??
