Breastfeeding has never been an easy journey for me. With each baby, there always seems to be some sort of interesting hurdle. With Noah it was latching issues, and then eventually supply problems. Emmett was my curve ball – I was pumping milk like it was going out of style (you can read more about that here). And Graham, well, it has definitely been a rollercoaster. Not only does my poor babe have a sensitive stomach, he also has eczema. So for the time being I have had to cut coffee, and I am also currently fasting from dairy and soy.

Tummy issues aside, if I am not constantly eating or downing water, my milk supply completely tanks. But let’s face it, with two toddlers and an infant, I am BUSY. I rarely have time to get in a good solid meal – especially one that is dairy and soy free (there is seriously soy in everything)! I desperately need something that I can make quickly, is full of healthy nutrients, and also keeps my milk supply up. That’s when one of my girlfriend’s sent me this smoothie recipe.

I have scoured Pinterest for the link that went with the recipe she sent me, but I couldn’t find it anywhere! So if you guys know where it came from, please let me know so that I can give credit where credit is due!

Incredibly Easy and Delicious Lactation Smoothie Recipe | Milk Supply Boosting Recipe

Lactation Smoothie Recipe

1 Banana

1 Tablespoon of Brewer’s Yeast

2 Tablespoons of Ground Flaxseed

2 Tablespoons of Cacao Powder

2 Tablespoons of Almond Butter

1 Tablespoon of Agave

1/3 Cup of Rolled Oats

1 Cup of Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk (feel free to add more if you want to thin out the smoothie)

2 Handfuls of Ice

Directions // Put all of the ingredients in the blender and blend! Seriously. It’s that easy.

Not only did I notice a rapid increase in my milk supply, but it’s ridiculously delicious. I do want to note however, that because of the flaxseed, it does make Graham poop significantly more. It doesn’t seem to upset his stomach, but he definitely has more bowel movements after I drink it.
