Since September started, I feel like life is just one giant blur. We are always on the go, conquering our to-do list and taking names. Unfortunately, that means I haven’t been able to spend a ton of time on the blog, but there have been so many exciting things going on that I thought I would give you guys a brief rundown of what’s been happening around the Hill house.
When Noah started school a couple of weeks ago, they were looking for a volunteer to serve as his class room parent. I obviously have zero experience with being a room parent, but I knew at some point I would want to serve as one – so I bravely volunteered myself. There’s no time like the present…right? Anyways, that has kept me pretty busy, along with the fun events his school has been hosting.
In addition to my new found responsibility at Noah’s school, I have also decided to “become a runner.” So for the last week I have spent my nights running around our neighborhood, working to get in shape and to improve my self-confidence. If any of you guys have any tips, playlists, or gear you can’t live without, send me your recommendations, because I’m hoping to turn this into a long term commitment.
Another plus of Noah going to school twice a week, is that I finally get to have one-on-one time with Emmett. At first it was a little strange, almost like I missing a limb, running around town with just one babe; but all of the extra undivided time spent together has been so incredible. One of the most memorable moments from this week, was squeezing in a brief trip to the zoo, just the two of us. For the first time Emmett got to run around freely, my attention focused solely on him. It was so much fun watching him explore and encounter things without having to share the limelight. I think we will probably end up getting a zoo membership so that we can go as many times as we want while Noah is in school without feeling guilty about being there for only two hours.
Along with our crazy schedule, I have come across a few things that I couldn’t help but share with guys!
1. This sugar cookie recipe. And while I realize that it’s my family’s sugar cookie recipe, it really is my absolute favorite. I bake them constantly during the holidays.
2. Gap has been having a huge sale all week, so I scooped up this gem of coat. If you head over to their website right now, you can get 35% off when you use the code EVENT.
3. Five words: The Girl on the Train. I just finished it, and it was AMAZING. I’m seriously counting down the days for the movie to come out. If you liked The Girl on the Train, head on over to The Every Girl for six similar thrillers.
I was hoping to maybe get in a relaxing weekend with the family, but it turns out I have a ton of errands to take care of before the baby shower I’m co-hosting on Sunday. So tonight, I think I will binge watch all of the Fall show premieres until I can’t keep my eyes open.
I hope you guys have an amazing weekend! XO
