TGIF! The last few days have been a rollercoaster at the Hill house, but tonight we have some of our closest friends coming over for dinner, and the thought of hanging out with great company has me extremely excited. I don’t know about you, but there is something about being in the presence of your favorite people who just completely restores your empty cup.

This week we have been trying our best to find creative ways to keep the boys busy while juggling the demands of having a newborn and also avoiding the ridiculous heat. I think some of my favorite ways to spend our time has actually been when we are turning the ordinary in to extra special experiences. For example, letting the boys “swim” in our bathtub. After they had been playing outside all morning, I decided to turn an everyday to do in to something a little more memorable. So I filled up the tub with slightly more bubble bath than usual, the boys grabbed their goggles, and we turned the jets on – which almost made our tub overflow with an insane amount of bubbles. But the boys had an absolute blast, and that made the normal feel unique.

While the boys have been indulging in bubble baths and homemade forts, I have been using some of the time I spend nursing perusing my favorite blogs and following the amazing gals behind them over on Instagram. Which made me think, if I enjoy them so much, I should share them with you guys! So here are my current five favorite bloggers – I hope you love them as much as I do!

1 // Mallory Fitzsimmons from Style Your Senses.

I absolutely adore Mallory. I’m not quite sure how I found her on Instagram, but I’m so glad I did. She recently just gave birth to her second daughter, about a month before Graham was born, and I have loved following her on insta stories. She keeps it so real, shares unbelievably cute motherhood fashion, and I honestly just want to be her BFF.

2 // Kaila Walls from These Blonde Walls.

I came across Kaila’s Instagram during my pregnancy with Graham, and this gal is so darn adorable. She also gave birth recently to her second son, August, and absolutely radiates joy. I love watching her stories on Instagram, because you can feel the love that her family resides in – it’s truly beautiful. Kaila has effortless style, and her blog is equally as fabulous.

3 // Leanne Barlow from Elle Apparel.

I look up to Leanne in so many ways. She is a fellow boy mom, living in California, and is totally owning motherhood.  Not only does she motivate and drive me to continue to pursue blogging during this difficult season, but she inspires me to workout and eat healthy. It also helps seeing a mom of three boys total thriving that provides with a proverbial light at the end of the tunnel.

4 // Katey McFarlan from Chronicles of Frivolity.

Katey is a fellow Fort Worth native, and has this personality that pulls you in. She is a new momma, and still somehow always has her hair and makeup done. She may actually be superhuman. My favorite thing about Katey though is her fire for the Lord. It is absolutely contagious, and always makes me want to dive deeper into my relationship with God. I also wouldn’t mind being her BFF, except if we were ever out in public together, people would probably think a homeless person was following her around since I live in lounge wear these days.

5 // Jessica Garvin from Garvin & Co.

I have been following Jessica for a very long time, and she is by far one of the most relatable bloggers I have encountered (in other words, she likes to drink beer and hang out with her family). Everything from her Instagram feed to her blog is incredibly gorgeous, which includes her ridiculously adorable daughters. When I follow her, I’m always like, I want to be more like Jessica, she’s not like a regular mom, she’s a cool mom! Seriously though, she is constantly making sweet memories with her babes.

If you have a favorite blog that you enjoy following, feel free to leave it in the comments below so that I can check it out when I’m up in the middle of the night. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend! XO

  1. Love the idea of letting the kids swim in the tub…so fun and so simple! A great reminder to myself that you can buy all the best toys or constantly plan all these jam-packed days but in the end the kids always prefer the box the toy came in or just a simple game of playing hide-and-go-seek inside.

    • Amen, sister!! I’ve definitely been in a phase of purging all of our unnecessary stuff, as well as trying to keep our calendar a little more simple. It makes life so much less stressful, and just reminds me of how nice it is to just be a kid! You can find joy in so many everyday things. 🙂 Hope you’re having a great start to the week!
